MY STORY
Hello, I'm Angela Salcedo, the Owner and Founder of Salceology. As the eldest daughter and first in my family to pursue education in Australia, I've dedicated 20 years to the workforce, including 15 years in the industry of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industry working as a Public Health Scientist and Policy Advisor, Academic and STEM Entrepreneur. I am a proud Filipino Woman born and raised in Melbourne, Australia.
Salceology was born from a moment of clarity: I was overworked, undervalued, and watching my life be decided for me. As a scientist, academic, entrepreneur, eldest daughter and the breadwinner for my family, I knew something had to change and I refused to let anyone else determine my worth anymore.
I took control, became my own boss and created something that didn't exist yet, jewellery and accessories that celebrate the beauty and intricacy of science, medicine, and the healing arts.

Nearly every piece in the Salceology collection is designed by me, inspired by the scientific concepts I've spent years studying and teaching, including anatomy, physiology, sacred geometry, quantum physics/theory and the intricate nature that makes up our physical reality.

As a Woman-in-STEM, I faced systemic barriers in my career that made me feel stuck, powerless and vulnerable. Salceology exists to empower Women-in-STEM to reach their full potential, to wear their passion proudly, and to never feel undervalued in the industry or in life.
