FAQs
WHAT METALS ARE USED FOR SALCEOLOGY JEWELLERY?
Salceology jewellery is made from the highest quality metals ranging from surgical-grade 316L stainless steel to solid 925 sterling silver and is plated with 18K gold, 18K rose gold or 926 sterling silver using Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) technology. Salceology pieces are universally renowned for their intricate detail therefore, the metals used for specific designs are very carefully based on their metal properties. For example, some designs can only be executed using metal alloys to ensure intricate details of the design to not bend or break.
DOES SALCEOLOGY JEWELLERY LEAVE GREEN RESIDUE OR RUST?
No. Salceology strictly uses metals and metal alloy compositions that have corrosion resistance to the elements. This means that our jewellery will not rust over time if worn continuously, corrode and react with the skin's surface or leave green or rust residue. Our pieces come with 1-year non-tarnish guarantee.
Please note that all jewellery inevitably tarnishes over a period of time (no matter the quality or composition) therefore to prevent this process from happening faster, it is recommended to minimise contact with water and the elements by safely storing and cleaning jewellery frequently. Our pieces come with 1-year non-tarnish guarantee.
CAN I SHOWER OR SWIM WITH MY SALCEOLOGY JEWELLERY?

HOW DO I CLEAN AND STORE MY SALCEOLOGY JEWELLERY SAFELY?
All jewellery orders will come with an eco-friendly keepsake box, a velvet polish cloth and free velvet travel pouch (if stock is available). It is recommended that customers store their pieces in the keepsake box to avoid exposure to direct sunlight, air and moisture when not in use.
It is also recommended that Salceology pieces are cleaned using warm soapy water, an alcohol wipe and wiped down with our polish cloth to avoid scratches.
We do not recommend the use of harsh brushes, scrubs or materials to clean Salceology pieces as they will most likely cause micro-scratching and imperfections.
